Our app helps you to get fit around London, using BorisBikes.

If we can get people to move bikes from full docks, to emptier docks, we can reduce the number of vans needed to redistribute the bikes.

When you open the app, it asks you to sign in using Twitter.

Using GPS, it works out where your nearest docking station is, and shows you a map of how to get to it.

When you get there, the challenge begins. You have to take a bike from the dock, and pedal it to an emptier dock within 25 minutes.

You are given a choice of three possible docks to pedal to. Some will be harder than others, so will earn more points.

When you get to your destination, your points are added to your account, and you can see how you're doing compared to other players.

Eventually, points could be converted into credits for use on the Barclay's Bike Hire system.

So by cycling in your spare time, you would earn credits for “real” bike journeys when you needed them.

Ideas for taking this project forward

Completion of leaderboard, twitter auth, using https, demoing to TfL?

Estimated costs for taking this project forward

Depends on what the points would convert into - e.g. how many points equal a free ride? Plus ongoing server/maintenance costs, api access, etc...
