National Pupil Data Appathon

July 07, 2012 → July 08, 2012

Department for Education

The Department for Education plan to pre-release, to a select number of developers (you!) their National Pupil Dataset, with a view to help them, and ordinary people, better understand the dataset.

It’s a big dataset, collected over several years, focussing on attainment through national public examinations at:

  • Keystage 2
  • Keystage 4
  • Keystage 5
Each set contains ~600’000 pupils (from England). For each individual there could be up to 400/500 pieces of data.

The dataset details ‘journeys’ for up to five years of the same person: for example, their KS2 (2004), KS4 (2009) and KS5 (2011) results.
