Hackday weekend on October 30/31 will give developers a chance to do their bit for our ailing planet – and to have fun in the process.
With stacks of fascinating and previously unavailable data available via data.gov.uk, Carbon Culture, 10:10 and the Guardian – not to mention some interesting hardware to get stuck into – the weekend will enable devs to create interesting and potentially very useful code covering everything from the carbon footprint of nearly everything to a super-granular breakdown of national emissions.
The event will also offer the chance to build things around government data including the new live energy feeds from Whitehall buildings.
We are hoping to be hacking lots of real stuff and we would like to be live streaming buildings and doing all sorts of exciting things, so we need some Arduino types too - and we need some Arduino kit!
Beer, pizza and comfy space in the Guardian office in return.
